Sophia Renee is an internationally-published American photographer and art director, archivist, and photo-essayist known for her sensuous, subtly erotic portraits of male models, skateboarders and bodybuilders. Over the last decade, she has created unforgettable images for global brands, top modeling agencies, and two New York Times Bestselling Authors of Romantic Fiction, all the while constructing a powerful and iconic record of exuberant beauty, marked by an embrace of youthful athleticism and rugged sexuality. Her work has been the subject of two limited edition monographs and a multitude of group and solo exhibitions, including a 2016 retrospective sponsored by Raymond James.
Sophia's lifelong obsession with documenting people, places, and experiences is legendary among those who know her. Her fascinating body of work—images, essays, Polaroid diaries, photographic notes, and travelogues—explore a myriad of topics surprising in their scope and diversity, including raves and nightlife, youth and drug culture, adventures in Europe and South America, the beauty and socioeconomic struggles of Cuba and the Cuban people, Old Florida history, the homeless, bikers, and more.
Sophia resides in Florida with her fiancé, Michael, a former Marine who occasionally appears in her work, and their chihuahuas, Luca and Lucy. She is also the owner of Seahorse Digital Media, a creative services agency specializing in design, social media marketing and management, and electronic publishing.
